Minimum Entry Requirements

Minimum Academic Entry Requirement: A Master’s degree from an accredited college with a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for admission to the CCG DBA program. Students must provide a resume reflecting at least 8 years of work experience.

Minimum English Language Entry Requirement: Official demonstration of English language proficiency is required if graduate degree is from a program at a college or university where instruction was not in English. Scores equal to or greater than the following: Duolingo English Language Test (DET): 100 Paper-based TOEFL (PBT): 550 Computer-based TOEFL (CBT): 213 Internet-based TOEFL (IBT): 79-80 IELTS: 6.0

The DBA includes the following curriculum components:

Core Curriculum:

The Core Courses are as follows:

DBA 805W Research Methodologies and Scholarly Writing

In this course, students enhance their knowledge and skills in business through advanced research methodologies and scholarly writing.

Some of the skills that students will improve on include thinking critically, process improvement and opportunity identification.

QSM 825W Quality Systems and Project Management

In this course, students explore various aspects of quality systems and project management such as foundations of quality, quality paradigms and quality in practice.

They also gain an understanding of the core values and principles of agile project management.

Students acquire the knowledge on how strong quality processes map to the project success criteria of on-time, within budget, within scope, broad organizational change adoption, and benefits realization.

DBA 835W Business Analytics and Strategic Decision Making

In this course, students analyze and evaluate the tools, methodologies, and systems used in implementing business analytics, and make recommendations for improving data and analytics practices within the context of business.

DBA 840W Financial Management and Fiscal Leadership

In this course, students gain a broad and fuller understanding of financial management principles, concepts, and applications that contributes to the completion of their doctoral education.

It gives students a theoretical and practical working framework to understand key financial perspectives for qualitative, quantitative, or mixed method research studies.

DBA 850W Innovation, Strategic Technologies, and Sustainability

In this course, students examine the ways organizations build innovation strategies to drive long-term sustainability and adaption through strategic technologies.

They also examine and analyze key market drivers, disruptors, ethical choices to optimize organizational sustainability.

DBA 855W Business Operations and Supply Chain Management

This course allows students to explore operation and supply chain management best practices and theories within the context of designing, planning, and executing sustainable systems to improve efficiencies and increase value for customers while maximizing profits for business.

DBA 860W Communication, Collaboration and Maximizing Performance

In this course, students develop an in-depth understanding of group dynamics from a systems theory perspective and apply that understanding to generate strategies that foster commitment and produce high-performing teams.

DBA 865W Organizational Development and Change Management

In this course, students develop their knowledge to help organizations to thrive in today’s complex and constantly changing world.

Students learn to employ a systems view of organizational development and change whilst working within many different sectors.

DBA 870W Strategic Management and Globalization

In this course, students study the strategies that top managers employ when making important decisions within an organization in a global context, synthesizing theories from strategic management, economics, organization theory, psychology and sociology.

The QSM Concentration Courses are as follows:

QSM 874W Lean, Six Sigma, and Organizational Assessment

In this course, students gain knowledge in the key aspects of Organizational Assessment using the Baldrige Excellence Framework from the perspectives of both external and internal examiners.

Students learn how to examine all key organizational systems by applying the Baldrige Excellence Framework and are encouraged to implement Six Sigma to achieve the requirements of Baldrige criteria.

QSM 875W Ethics, Social Responsibility, and Legal Issues in Business

In this course, students gain an understanding in the intersection of law, ethics, and social responsibility, focusing on the current ethical and legal issues that leaders in every industry confront during decision-making within an organization.

QSM 878W Business and Government Quality Systems Management Research and Application

In this course, students gain an in-depth understanding of Management Systems, Organizational Performance, and Continuous Improvement in government and business, using the tenets of Quality Management System Standards, and the Malcom Baldrige Framework of Excellence.

QSM 892W Quality System Design and International Quality Standards

In this course, students can improve their knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes in quality systems design and international quality standards through advanced research and practical application.

It provides scholar-practitioners with a framework for designing quality systems in the organizations.

The QSM Dissertation Courses are as follows:

DBA 800W DBA Colloquium I  - 1 credit

In this course, students will learn the tenets of research and learn strategies for success by pairing with last year students who will provide guidance and mentorship.

DSS 935W DBA Colloquium III  - 1 credit

In this course, students will attend (and present) their research at the American Society for Quality (BOSCON).

They are also encouraged to provide mentorship to the first year DBA students to help them navigate the path toward completion at NEIB.

DSS 930W DBA Colloquium II  - 1 credit

In this online course, students are given an opportunity to work with a faculty member to prepare a journal article for publication.

Materials are provided to students with an opportunity to work with a faculty member to research and write a journal publication. The student’s article is not required to be published.

In this course, students are expected to complete 3 of the 9 dissertation milestones at NEIB.

They will write a Preliminary Proposal paper, find an appropriate dissertation Chairperson, and write a draft of chapters one and two of their dissertation.

Once completed, they are automatically enrolled in DSS 910.

DSS 910W Doctoral Dissertation Project II – Proposal Development (Chapter 3)

A continuation of DSS 905, students are expected to continue working on their dissertation with the chosen Dissertation Chairperson, completing dissertation milestones 4, 5 and 6.

Once completed, they are automatically enrolled in DSS 920.

DSS 920W Doctoral Dissertation Project III – Final Report/Oral Defense (Chapter 4 and 5)

A continuation of DSS 910, students are expected to continue working on their dissertation with the chosen Dissertation Chairperson, completing dissertation milestones 7, 8 and 9.

Students will complete the requirements for the dissertation once the milestones are completed.
